Read MoreLife is good...
I grew up in Leipzig/Germany and left for New Zealand the summer after graduating from High School in 2005.
After several random jobs as a professional bucket boy and fruit picker with deployments to the Sunshine Coast of Australia and Central Otago in New Zealand I had more freedom then I had ever known and a bit of savings.
In 2008/2009 I got lost in Hongkong, backpacked Australia, hitchhiked around New Zealand and drove a little white car 7,000km across the USA to the border of Canada where I got attacked by a little brown bear in Yosemite Nationalpark.
I returned home penniless but to happy parents. Since I started with the university my life has been moving towards the high mountains. More adventures took place in the Andes and the mighty Himalayan mountains + Karakoram ranges.
In 2010 I went from Mumbai/India (sea level) to the Basecamp of Mount Everest (5360m) overland and returned to Nepal for another little expeditions in 2011, 2012 and 2014. The idea to drive a small white car (Siegfried!!!) to the western tip of South Africa was sucessful and a magnificent journey through wilderness lands.
After doing my Masters in 'High mountain geography' at the University of Heidelberg, (including an internship at Tiger Trail Outdoor Adventures Laos ), mountain guiding at Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania and extensive travels to Ladakh/India and northern Pakistan I am now employed at a local tour operator in Dresden/Germany and look forward to a new field trip to the Himalayas.
